The 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches takes place in Busan, Republic of Korea, form 30 October to 8 November 2013, under the theme "God of Life, lead us to justice and peace".
The assembly is the highest governing body of the World Council of Churches (WCC) and is the only moment when the fellowship of 345 member churches comes together as a whole in prayer and celebration. The assembly has the mandate to review WCC work, to determine the overall polices of the Council, to issue public statements and to elect a new central committee. (WCC Assembly Programme book, xi)

The whole of
the Assembly is a spiritual experience of prayer, encounter, reflection and
discernment. This spiritual life is founded on the assembly theme, “God of
life, lead us to justice and peace,” itself a prayer before God. Some of the
pieces of our prayer life together include:
Gathering
Prayer on the first day
Daily
Morning Prayers for 30 minutes to commence each day
at 8:30 am followed by 30 minutes of Bible Study
Daily
Evening Prayers for 30 minutes to conclude each
12-hour fully packed day from 8 to 8:30 pm followed by Confessional Evening
Prayers and Vesper Services of the various member denominations
Worship with local congregations
Taize Prayer under the leadership of the Taize Community in France
Korean
Protestant and Ecumenical Common Prayer
Closing
Prayer on the final day to send everyone into the world filled
with the Holy Spirit of our common faith as Christians
